Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 Test
For a long time, no shoe has been announced with as much advance praise as the new Gel-Nimbus 25 from ASICS.
After a white unbranded model was shown by numerous influencers for a long time, the hype was already quite enormous. Now it has also arrived with us and we were allowed to test it.
The Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 is a running shoe with high comfort and cushioning. The brand calls it the most comfortable and cushioned shoe of all time. He has feignetlich already earned this title for several years, but the new materials raise the level even higher. The Nimbus features the Flyte Foam Blast Plus ECO and PureGEL Element, both made from cutting-edge materials. The PureGEL Element is located under the heel and provides additional cushioning.
Frank from Runster:
"My thought after slipping into it ? So kind of stable and firm, but immediately soft and responsive under pressure."
The upper is made of mesh and knit, fits the foot well and sits comfortably from the first lacing. The cushioning in the upper and heel counter provide good support. The midsole is 41.5mm high in the heel and has an 8mm drop. You stand very stable in it, but quickly forget that you have a shoe on.
Compared to its predecessor, the shoe has 20% more Flyte Foam Blast Plus ECO for more cushioning and a PureGEL element for a smoother rollover. The curved midsole supports an easy roll. The shoe actually tempts you to roll.
The outsole consists of three independent rubber pads for freedom of movement and good grip. Overall, the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 offers very good cushioning, fit and freedom of movement while running.
For which runners is the Nimbus 25 suitable ?
The Gel-Nimbus 25is definitely suitable for neutral runners but also for people who pronate a little. Despite the massive midsole, the shoe buckles surprisingly little inward without being too supportive. It is suitable for all distances, but its strength is certainly on the comfort for longer distance to beyond the marathon.
