The new Asics Glideride 2 Earth Day
The Asics Glideride 2 is a great neutral shoe that allows you to save energy during long runs. For this purpose, it was equipped with a curved sole, the so-called GUIDESOLE™ technology. This technology increases your efficiency while running by supporting the foot in its forward movement. In addition, the midsole combines two different layers. The upper layer has FLYTEFOAM cushioning, which provides reduced impact forces. The bottom layer, with FLYTEFOAM Propel technology, provides a strong rebound to further increase your efficiency. The specially designed mesh upper ideally adapts to the foot and allows for high breathability. Furthermore, 3D prints were used on the upper to eliminate the need for annoying seams.
The special thing about this Glideride 2 is that it is part of the Earth Day collection. In this collection, old textiles are recycled and used for the upper. The Glideride 2 Earth Day therefore has at least 50% recycled materials in the polyester upper. Since 2021, Asics has used recycled polyester to make the upper for over 95% of its new running shoes. In addition, the Glideride 2's insole has been dyed using fewer resources. This allows for a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions during the dyeing process. In the latest Earth Day collection, the Asics Glideride 2 features a light beige colorway with a speckled midsole and reflective detail on the heel.
